Enterprise AI moves from adoption to accountability. The 54th AIBP Conference & Exhibition Indonesia gathered Indonesia's top enterprise and public sector leaders on 26-27 August at Four Seasons Jakarta to confront the harder questions of AI at scale — ownership, governance, and who answers when the system acts on its own.

AIBP Conference & Exhibition Indonesia 2026
Pak Chairul Saleh, Director of Manpower Productivity at Indonesia's Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, laid out a clear thesis: AI could lift Indonesia's economic output by 50% by 2035 — but only if the country shifts from consuming AI to building it. That means scaling national data centre capacity from ~180 MW today toward 1.3 GW, reskilling and upskilling the workforce rather than defaulting to layoffs, and embedding ethical governance from the start. His bottom line: the real value of AI isn't the technology itself, but the productivity gains, sharper data analytics, and new products and services that reach the broader public.

Indonesia's next phase of AI adoption will be decided by capital as much as capability. With state capital consolidating under Danantara and enterprises weighing sovereign infrastructure against hyperscaler dependence, the economics of AI now sit at board level. This discussion examines how Indonesian enterprises are scaling AI with financial discipline: who funds it, what infrastructure really costs, and how these choices determine whether AI delivers sustained advantage or becomes an unmanaged cost of doing business.

As AI initiatives expand, data is no longer confined to individual teams or functions, and UU PDP has turned data handling into a board-level obligation. This panel explores how Indonesian enterprises are redefining data ownership, access, and accountability when data, AI, and business leaders all claim the same asset. Leaders will discuss how they balance control with usability under Indonesia's data protection and residency rules, and how to build governance models that enable AI at scale without slowing execution.

As AI systems move from support tools to decision-shaping capabilities, and with OJK's AI supervision framework setting the tone for regulated industries, enterprises face a critical question: how much control is necessary, and where should it sit? This panel examines how Indonesian organisations are calibrating oversight as AI becomes embedded in operations, risk management, and customer-facing processes. Leaders will discuss when human intervention remains essential, how escalation and accountability are designed, and how to maintain trust and compliance without undermining speed and business impact.

AI is changing how work is done faster than the controls around it can keep up. Roles, access, and decision rights are being rewritten, and the workforce, the most targeted and least predictable part of the enterprise, is where that change lands first. This panel examines the people side of cyber and AI risk: how leaders read the behavioural signals that precede an insider incident, close a widening security talent gap, and keep secure behaviour intact when AI reshapes who does what. The discussion turns on a question the technology cannot answer: as work changes, where does accountability for the human layer actually sit, and is trust earned or mandated?

As AI accelerates decision-making and introduces new forms of automation, the nature of cyber risk is changing. This panel explores whether today’s cybersecurity strategies, many of which were designed for human-paced systems, are fit for an enterprise where AI influences operations, customer interactions, and critical decisions. Leaders will discuss how threat models, resilience planning, and accountability must evolve as AI expands attack surfaces, shortens response windows, and raises the stakes of failure beyond IT into business continuity and trust.

As enterprises deploy AI systems capable of initiating actions, escalating issues, and influencing outcomes without waiting for human approval, accountability becomes increasingly complex. This panel examines what happens when an AI agent makes the wrong call. Leaders will discuss how responsibility is assigned when autonomy blurs decision boundaries, how escalation and intervention are designed, and what it means to remain “in control” when systems operate faster than humans can respond. The discussion focuses on ownership, accountability, and preparedness, not technology hype.
